Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Is the application fee included in the tuition price or is it a separate fee?
It is a separate and non-refundable fee.
Can the application fee be paid at the same time as tuition and all other fees or do they need to be paid separately?
Submit your application form and $200 application fee together. If your application is successful, we will then inform you and request that the remaining fees be paid. The remaining fees should then be paid all at once - once the application is complete and all fees are paid, a letter of acceptance will be issued. Upon approval of the application, the student has 30 days to submit the health insurance fee, homestay ($6750), and tuition fees ($9200) as well as the homestay application fee ($400). Once these fees have been received, a Letter of Acceptance will be issued. Note that the homestay and tuition fees can be paid in two installments (one installment of $4600 tuition and $3375 homestay is due at the time of registration while the remainder is due by January 1st, to allow for schooling and homestay in the second semester).

Does the school arrange medical insurance? Is it provincial or private insurance?
Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools has a mandatory private student health insurance plan. Letters of acceptance will not be issued until health insurance fees are paid. Fees will be collected at the same time as the application, tuition, and Homestay fees. Students will continue to be solely responsible for all medical and other expenses that exceed the scope of this health care coverage.
Is the cost of the insurance included in the tuition or paid separately?
The health insurance is paid separately.
Will the students get an insurance card or anything else that shows they are insured?
Students receive a health insurance card upon arrival; however, all medical expenses are paid in advance by the student and a claim is then sent to the insurer. In case a student needs to visit a doctor while in Canada, it is very important that he/she bring a medical claim form (provided), which the physician will complete during the visit.
Can students choose which doctor they want to see? Do they have to pay in advance and then apply for reimbursement? What about expensive bills like for hospital treatment?
Students will be required to pay in advance for their medical treatment, using whatever doctor they choose, and then submit a claim directly to the insurance company. Copies of a claim form, instructions for completing the claim form, and summary of benefits information are available HERE.
